OBJECTIVE: Help children understand that Heavenly Father planned for us each to belong to a family that needs us and loves us.
CRAFT ACTIVITY – I Am Part of a Family – Family Face Block Game
1. Print or copy the activity. Choose the block that fits the boy or girl or nationality (if printing in color from the CD-ROM). To make, fold and glue edges and tape down lid.
2. To help children feel they are part of a family, use the Family Face block to play a game. To Play: Have children take turns rolling block and telling something about a member of their family as the family member appears on the block (face up). Ideas: Tell what that family member has taught you, why you love them, or how you can help and show love to that person. When child rolls “I Am Part of a Family,” he/she says, “I love my family.”
THOUGHT TREAT: Pretzel family necklace. String pretzels on yarn or ribbon for child to wear home. As they eat this yummy treat, they’ll think, “My family’s really neat!”
