YOUTH LESSON ACTIVITY. PRIESTHOOD KEYS REMINDER door hanger. Youth can learn about the keys given to us by ancient Prophets to do God’s work. #1 Moses gave us the keys (D&C 110:11 to the gathering of Israel to do missionary work). #2 Elijah gave us the keys (D&C 110:13-16 to do temple work “turn the hearts of the fathers” to seal families forever).

Little LESSON LIFESAVER Activity:
Priesthood Keys Reminder

OBJECTIVE: To help youth understand that priesthood keys (giving authority to do missionary and temple work) were restored in the Kirtland Temple.
Review the attention activity and discussion and application questions (see PRIMARY LESSON below*) in the manual for which the following activity illustrates.
ACTIVITY: Priesthood Keys Reminder (hang on the door)
Remind youth that Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery unlocked the powers of heaven when they received the priesthood keys from the prophets Moses and Elijah. These keys help us do missionary and temple work. Read the scripture on each key to know who restored which priesthood key, Moses or Elijah. See Mount of Transfiguration* (below).
TO MAKE Print or copy, color, and cut out the keys for each youth on cardstock paper. When cutting out, cut out Moses and Elijah figures and glue on the right key. Glue keys back-to-back. Punch a hole in keys and tie on a 12″ string. Attach keys to your bedroom door to remind you of the priesthood keys that will unlock the powers of heaven.
THOUGHT TREAT: Cloud 9 Pudding. Top pudding with whipped cream to remind children of that “Cloud 9” feeling that comes from heavenly priesthood blessings.
TESTIMONY: Express your gratitude to Heavenly Father for restoring the priesthood keys of missionary work and sealing ordinances to the earth. Help the children understand that because of the events that took place in the Kirtland Temple, they and their families can be members of the Church and have the opportunity to be sealed together as families. You may want to share your feelings about being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and knowing that your family is or can be sealed to you for eternity. SCRIPTURE CHALLENGE CARD: Help children Search and Ponder this scripture card by filling in the blanks. PRINT this 5 x 7 scripture card from the pdf included with the above activity. You can punch the two holes on the left and tie a ribbon to attach cards or use two metal rings to connect cards.

I LOVE this lesson! Thank you!! For the Enrichment Activity #1, “To help the children understand their responsibilities as members of the Church to preach the gospel and participate in temple ordinances, make a copy for each child of the worksheet found at the end of the lesson. Give the children pencils and have them complete the worksheet. (If it is not feasible to make a copy for each child, copy the worksheet onto the chalkboard and have the children complete it together.) Discuss the answers as a class. (Answers: 1-gospel; 2-temple; 3-sealed; 4-forever; 5-temple work; 6-eternity.),” I did not see the worksheet at the end of the lesson and wonder if I may search for a keyword or some how be able to find or get the worksheet.
